Most Western economies are based directly or indirectly on oil. Crude Oil is both a source of energy for our power stations, the main ingredient of petrol and the basis for the plastics industry. The problems with Oil are twofold; as an energy source it is one of the main contributors to Climate change; oil is the starting ingredient for most of our everyday products and technologies and the World's supply of Oil is running out.
